At the core of my work is the belief that every child deserves an equitable education tailored to their unique needs. I am dedicated to dismantling barriers within the education system and advocating for inclusive practices that recognize and celebrate diversity.
As I continue this journey, my mission remains steadfast: to be a beacon of support for families, ensuring that children with special needs are seen, heard, and provided with the opportunities they need in order to thrive.

Florida IEP, 504, and School Discipline Advocacy Services
We offer a variety of services, including
- Representation and attendance at IEP or 504 meetings for special education students.
- Assistance scheduling eligibility meetings and psychoeducational evaluations for potential services.
- IEP Goal progress monitoring
- Assistance applying for scholarships such as the Family Empowerment Scholarship
- Ensuring Behavior Intervention Plans /Safety Plans are developed and adhered to.
- Ensuring schools consistently collect all Intervention and ESE support data with validity and reliability.
- Assistance with transitioning from the Head Start Program into a DOE (Department of Education) school.
- Assistance with students transitioning from High School to College or Trade School programs and Diploma Deferment Options.
- Assistance in breaking down a student's IEP or 504 Plan for parents to gain a better and more thorough understanding of services their children are entitled to.
- Ensuring students are receiving an appropriate Response to Intervention (RTI)
- Advocacy for the student's rights pertaining to behavior's displayed at school being labeled as "behavioral issues" when they are instead a manifestation of the child's disability.
- Assistance with filing State Complaints/ Mediation Prep/ Due Process.
- Informal Removal / Shortened School Days in violation of IDEA
Meet Sabrina Ewart, Florida Special Education Advocate
I’m Sabrina Ewart, a Florida special education advocate, former Special Education Coordinator, certified ESE K-12 educator, and, most importantly, a mother who has had to fight for her own child.
For more than 12 years, I have helped families navigate IEPs, 504 plans, eligibility, evaluations, missing services, disability-related discipline, informal removals, and the moments when a school says “no” but a parent knows something is not right.
My work is personal.
After my own child was diagnosed with autism and cerebral palsy, I learned firsthand how overwhelming the special education system can feel when you are trying to protect your child and understand a language nobody ever taught you to speak. I did not accept “that is just how it works” as an answer. I learned the laws, procedures, data, and strategy behind the decisions being made about children.
I have served as a Special Education Coordinator and support facilitator in Palm Beach, Martin, and Miami-Dade counties, as well as in New York. I know how schools operate because I have been on the school side of the table. I know what should happen before, during, and after an IEP meeting, and I know when a family is being given less than what their child actually needs.
I am also a member of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA), Vice Chair for Trusted Hope, and a recipient of the Barbara Blaine Trailblazer Award.
But credentials are only part of it.
I approach meetings collaboratively because that is usually the fastest way to get meaningful results for a child. My motto is:
You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
But sometimes, you have to put down the honey and pick up the fly swatter.
I know the difference.
I know when a team needs a calm, prepared parent voice in the room. I know when questions need to be asked, when documentation matters, when a request needs to be put in writing, and when a district needs to understand that a family is not going away without answers.
